15 days of German inspired entertainment in Brisbane! ‘Herzlich Willkommen’ – welcome to Brisbane German Week -a fun fresh multicultural initiative held from 1 – 15 October this year. Initiated by German Honorary Consul Prof Michael Rosemann, this event allows Brisbanites to discover Australia’s strong connections to Germany.
You are presented with the opportunity to take part in 15 days filled with unique events and many surprises, when Brisbane will showcase its educational, scientific, economic, political and cultural connections to Germany in cooperation with schools, universities, businesses and numerous other organisations. These organisations make the Brisbane German Week 2017 what it is – a 15 day celebration of German culture!
The Brisbane German Week schedule covers among others a German language competition, School Film Festival screenings, a classical concert, the German Science and Innovation Day, the German Business Day, the 10th Oktoberfest Brisbane and the launch of the world-famous Gerhard Richter exhibition, followed by five months of Richter Art.
If you like to see for yourself how well connected Australia is with Germany and the community, join us during this time and follow us on social media.
We look forward to sharing everything from our language to our technology, our businesses and our festivals with you!
“Brisbane German Week provides unique opportunities
to explore and enjoy a variety of bridges between
Queensland and Germany. I very much look forward to
welcoming you to these events.”
